Free Community College Comes to Oregon

“Oregonians can now afford to dream big,” Brown said. “Today we fling wide open the doors of opportunity, by expanding access to post-secondary education.”

Students have to apply for government financial aid and maintain at least a 2.5 grade-point average. The program starts in Fall 2016, and eligibility is limited to students within six months of finishing high school.

It’s another instance of the Left Coast moving forward at the state level in areas where the larger United States cannot.
