Women & Women First: California Aims to Close Gender Wage Gap

↑ Listen. From KQED: Women who are paid less than men for the same work will have new tools to challenge their employers. Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed into law new provisions of the state’s equal pay law. Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, who sponsored the bill, calls them the toughest in the nation. “And it is my hope that the other 49 states will take heed, will take a look at what we’re doing here and use it as a template to ensure greater wage equality for the women of their families and their economies as well,” Jackson said.
